The gospel is not a story about how Christ came to provide us a way to get a BMW, a new house or a pair of designer jeans. It's a story about God looking down on his beloved, and in his mercy becoming flesh in order to restore their relationship with God (John 3:16). This could only be accomplished by Christ (the holy & perfect sacrifice) laying down his life, to die for all sin (1 John 4:10). Jesus is the TREASURE of the gospel; he is not a means to acquire the treasures of this world.
