Not being too keen on the title "Worship Leader" for the person/group leading the congregation in singing every Sunday morning...the article below was very helpful to me. Jesus is our worship leader. The musicians and singers play no role in "ushering in the Holy Spirit" or "Bringing the church into the presence of God." Our only role as a worship team on a Sunday morning is to simply help facilitate an attitude and reverence for the worship of a Holy and Righteous God. We are simply using the gifts and talents that God has given to us, to help the congregation do what they are called to do scripturally.
